John Deere Day 2008

What a fantastic John Deere Day! Check out the slideshow in the sidebar for some pics of the fun we had this year. Every year this event only grows and gets better. The final count had over 1,500 in attendance enjoying the food, fun, live music and games. After last years snow storm the beautiful weather brought everyone out of the woodwork.

John Deere Day started as just a small appreciation for the local farmers and community surrounding the dealership and has grown into a region wide celebration. What began as foot long hotdogs, coffee and a movie down on the square now includes celebrity musicians, over 80 briskets and 400lbs of sausage! As Loren Moore would say. "It's really good sausage!"

This year was a record year for sales of John Deere Shirts, John Deere Hats and John Deere toys. While the high attendance may account for a lot of the sales those in the know attribute it to the merchandising prowess of Lindsey Hanson, the latest family member to follow in the tradition of Lawson Implement's family owned heritage.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the new pimped out gators and all the John Deere Tractors on display. It is going to be hard to out do this years event, but I imagine owner Billy Lawson will Find a way. Here's hoping next year is even better and thanks to everyone who came out for the fun!
