Gold Star Dealer?

Well tomorrow is a big day. Lawson Implement is hoping to become the newest John Deere Goldstar Dealer. I know everyone has put a ton of work in to making this happen and it will mean a lot to the Lawson family and the local community.

Customer Service has always been a cornerstone of the business and we hope to take that to the next level with this recognition from John Deere. It has been amazing watching the dealership grow and evolve over time to meet the needs of the surrounding communities.

I will try to get Lindsey to give a recap after the visit and update on what comes next in the process! Stay tuned!!!

John Deere Limo

THE SAGINAW NEWS

Valley Lutheran High School's homecoming theme, ''Around the World,'' lived up to its Jules Verne-inspired title Saturday when a student arrived to the dance using an unusual mode of transportation.

Matt R. Helmreich, a 17-year-old senior, drove his date to the gala using his family's 2003 John Deere 8320 tractor

''I'm sure a few of our friends are going to be surprised,'' he said before leaving for the dance.

Helmreich, the son of Ron and Lisa Helmreich, drove the tractor from his Freeland home to the Saginaw Township school, a ride of about 30 minutes.

Matt Helmreich and his girlfriend, 16-year-old Jessica A. Miller, daughter of Jon and Cyndy Miller of Merrill, didn't dress down for the occasion despite the rural twist.

''Oh, she's got a really pretty dress on,'' Helmreich said. ''I had to wear my suit and tie.''

Helmreich said he chose to ride in the tractor rather than in a limousine to pay homage to his career aspiration of farming.

John Deere Clothes : Not Just for Farmers anymore!

John Deere clothing has come a long way from the corn fields of Illinois. This symbol of American farming has exploded on to the fashion scene and shows no signs of retreat. Everywhere you look from celebrities to college students evidence of this true American icon are showing up the form of John Deere Hats, John Deere Shirts, John Deere Hoodies and every accessory you can imagine.

What began as a somewhat ironic fashion statement a la trucker hat, John Deere clothing has morphed into everyday wear and hipster chic alike, invading every bastion of fashion outlet from big box stores to couture boutiques.

From John Deere T-Shirts, to John Deere Hoodies, boots and footwear to fashion accessories there is no doubt this iconic brand has won over the hearts of fashionistas nationwide. There is even a line of John Deere Pink women’s and girls clothing and accessories for whom the bold yellow and green may be a tad too “ordinary.”

What makes John Deere clothing so desirable, so cool and so accessible? Most of the John Deere Clothing success can be linked to the strategic licensing and placement of their t-shirts and branded garb. You would be hard pressed to find a retail outlet that did not carry some form of John Deere branded merchandise.

Nostalgia and the bygone way of a simpler life play a role in the success of John Deere Clothes as well. The symbol of the deer and the strong green and yellow color scheme immediately conjure up images of a much slower paced, easier time when the biggest worry was bringing the crop in on time.

Now with John Deere Hats, John Deere Shirts, John Deere boots and Pink John Deere clothing you can hit the streets in style all while owning a little piece of Americana.

John Deere Day 2008

What a fantastic John Deere Day! Check out the slideshow in the sidebar for some pics of the fun we had this year. Every year this event only grows and gets better. The final count had over 1,500 in attendance enjoying the food, fun, live music and games. After last years snow storm the beautiful weather brought everyone out of the woodwork.

John Deere Day started as just a small appreciation for the local farmers and community surrounding the dealership and has grown into a region wide celebration. What began as foot long hotdogs, coffee and a movie down on the square now includes celebrity musicians, over 80 briskets and 400lbs of sausage! As Loren Moore would say. "It's really good sausage!"

This year was a record year for sales of John Deere Shirts, John Deere Hats and John Deere toys. While the high attendance may account for a lot of the sales those in the know attribute it to the merchandising prowess of Lindsey Hanson, the latest family member to follow in the tradition of Lawson Implement's family owned heritage.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the new pimped out gators and all the John Deere Tractors on display. It is going to be hard to out do this years event, but I imagine owner Billy Lawson will Find a way. Here's hoping next year is even better and thanks to everyone who came out for the fun!
